Auror Headquarters, Level 2 of the M.O.M.

It had been a long day at the ministry thus far and all he was really able to think of was how much work needed to be done. Bureaucrats like Umbridge and Fudge made sure that there was always more paper work to do than practical work to be done...like hunting down and identifying irritating Death Eaters...Reports of Death Eater attacks that were on an even more annoying up rise in these resent weeks....had been making sure that he was glued to his office table filing out reports, every once in awhile looking up longingly at the charts and maps on his office cubical walls, thinking of all the time he had wasted on writing out a detailed description on the last Death Eater attack...he could be working on figuring out the details of the next Death Eater attack...

His Magic Eye worked up along the charts as his normal brown one scowled irritably at page before him...He needed to get this right or he would have to do it all again. He dipped his Quill into the unforgeable charmed ink and looking at the door wondering what the time was...He really needed to take a break soon...

Tonks was really starting to hate her work. Death eaters were on the loose, people were dying and it was meant to be her job as an auror to be hunting and bringing them down before anyone else could suffer. Instead she was having to sit at her desk with the others, writing out reports about this thing and another thing and just scrawling on a massive pile of parchament that she didn't really care about. She wasn't the only one getting irritated by it and she was feeling rather mutinous. She had had high hopes this morning that maybe she would get her chance with the others to get her proper job done but these had been dashed immediatly. She had been spending the whole day running around doing this totally irrelevent thing and then another tottally irrelevant thing. Now she could at least get to her desk but that wasn't really much of an improvement, the only difference really was that at least she could sit down. She pushed open the door leading in and sighed heavily when she saw all the sheets of parchament piled up in a neat stack

"This isn't my job" She muttered to herself as she angrily stomped over and sat down on her chair, staring at her desk for a few moments before looking up and around. Everybody else had gone, except for Mad-Eye who was still working diligently away. She didn't know how he was managng because this whole idiocy of not letting the Aurors out to catch the dark wizards and witches would surely be grinding on his last nerves

FINALLY Finished with his reports, pushes back and allows his chair to role back as he rubs the bridge of his nose just above the missing chunk of it, and spinning it to have a look around the far to quiet office, of the opinion that there is always quiet before the storm and since its been far to quiet lately...its going to be an incredibly big storm...settling his seat in the genral direction of Tonks.

"Nymphadora!..What the hell do you think you're doing?" barks at her. Lets his chair ride from side to side, seeing how irritated she is...she really needs to learn to gain control of her emotions...and being a metamophagus, makes it doubly important to do so... "Ya should really know better than to go stomping around like a Erumpent with a sore tooth!"cranes his neck to look at her desk-top "What you working on?...I've just finished the reports on the surveillance at Nocturn Alley.." Truly wishes once more that he could be somewhere else and lets his face turn into a scowl as he gets up off his seat, kicking his chair back with his fake leg and coming to lean against her desk, more to irritate her and try and get her riled up than to see what she is doing "any new reports?"

For the most part Tonks liked Moody and thought the world of him but when he called her Nymphadora and started comparing her to things she really didn't like him and rather wanted to take away his voice. As he shouted at her she leant back in her seat and glowered angrily at him, her arms folded tightly across her chest and her hair flushing a deep red.

"Don't call me Nymphadora!" She exclaimed rather murderously. She absolutly hated her first name and couldn't stand it when people called her by it. Tonks, even Dora was ok but not Nymphadora. She contined to glare at Mad-eye as he stood up, kicked his chair away and came over to lean on her desk. She was no fool, she knew he had zero interest in what she was doing.

"I've been running errands all day so all I know is the dementors still haven't come back and fudge is still covering up. We have memo's for errands but apparently a purple haired aurors the new way to communicate around here" She remarked sourely, prodding a few of the parchament sheets across the top of her desk

"fine...Tonks"Smirks and leans closer to her, sneering at her bad mood more than anything else"dont let the job get to you! Good with the bad Tonks , so no need to get upset about running a few messages around...you know aswell as I do that sending messages in person are safer than sending messages by memo's that can be easily intercepted and read and altered! so stop your complaining and get some work done" says just as sourly back at her.

looks at the parchments..."have you gotten any paper work done today? Or have ya bin lolly gagging around? And dont forget we still need to get some training in for later...dont want you getting slow on me...your already clumsy enough as it is" says sweetly but is wise enough to move away from the desk, in case she wants to hex him for saying that.

Tonks tried to resist the urge to roll her eyes as Mad-eye started talking about how it was safer to deliver in person than send by memo's. She had to admit though that he had a point, it would be stupid to think that there weren't death eaters working inside the ministry or people who were under the imperious, Lucius Malfoy for example was directly influencing the minister himself. At Mad-eye's comment about her being clumsy enough as it was Tonks' hair flushed an even deeper red but stayed sitting in her seat. She grabbed hold of a piece of parchament and started reading it with a small huff. Halfway through she placed it back down on the desk and looked to Mad-eye

"What on earth is this all about?" She asked, handing it to him just incase he decided not to read it with his magical eye

Leaning against the cubical wall trying to hide his amusement at her flustered self, but is rather pleased to see that she was able to control herself at his clumsiness jibes... and must remember to not call her Nymphadora for the rest of the evening...she'll get there eventually...hell she's gotten this far already...

Reaches out and snatches the paper out of her hand as he looks down at it he notices that this is a memo marked with the M.O.M seal so it Authentic. and speed reads it with his good eye while his magic eye darts around looking for eaves droppers "What this is about Nymph..."sighs "Tonks...is that there appears to have been a disturbance in the ministry of Magic's Department of Mysteries and they would like us to investigate...specifically in their Vale room...ya up fir that.."

Tonks watched him carefully as he read what was on the parchament, not at all peturbed by his magical eye whizzing around, probably checking for intruders. This was Mad-eye Moody after all 'constant vigilance' being yelled every two minutes Mad-eye Moody. Despite that, he was well liked by the Order and by Tonks especially. As she remembered him shouting his mantra she suddenly had an image in her head of him creeping up behind a death eater and yelling it as loudly as he possibly could in their ear. She started laughing then quickly stopped when she heard what he'd just said.

"They want us to do work? Real hands on work?" She asked, her voice a mixture of astonishment and hope, her eyes shining at the prospect of actually being able to do something other than run around delivering things and doing paperwork

Taking the parchment and tucking it into his shirt pocket (All his pockets having some or other ward on them to stop pickpockets) he pushes himself off the wall and nods rolling his eyes "Aye...but its just have a look around an make sure that there isnt anything amiss and then come back to do more reports on it no doubt..Dont worry...I'll do the paperwork on it though...yours looks like its getting backed up" Offers generously though the note of irritation at that kind of spoils the whole "I'm not scrooge" part of it.

"You know the rules...have to have yer partner with you, and keep your wand out and CONSTANT VIGILANCE!!!" barks at her spraying spittle at her "and try for once not to knock something over Tonks!" says in a weary voice before moving away and out of the office to the elevator that will take them down to the lower levels...

Tonks face fell and she folded her arms across her chest, leant back in her chair and glowered at the wall. She was sorely tempted to mutter 'way to ruin my parade' but decided that it wouldn't be a good idea. She perked up a tiny bit at Mad-Eye's offer to do the paperwork, even though he made it sounds like he was being forced into doing it. Tonks hadn't been expecting him to shout at her and so she winced, pushing her chair back away from him and her desk with her feet. She watched him as he walked away and stuck his tongue out at him. She would be able to refraine from knocking anything over, she wasn't that clumsy after all unless there were rugs around or that trolls leg umbrella stand in Grimmauld Place. She sighed and lifted herself up from the chair and following Mad-eye to the elevator

"I saw that!" He informs her just after she sticks her tongue out at him sounding more amused than irritated "Just wait until I can get you into a mock duel Lass...Remember! Never turn your back on someone unless you have a magic eye that can see your every move!" Stands in the elivator waiting for her to join him already not enjoying the boxed in feeling "For a young Spry young Auror! You sure are slow!" smirks, the as far as he is concerned she should have become more cautious of the Troll Umbrella stand which she is continually tripping over and which only makes it far worse! "you coming?"

Tonks placed her hand over her mouth to try and supress her laugh at what Mad-eye had said and smiling ever slightly at his tone when he'd told her that he'd seen her sticking her tongue out at him. At his comment about her being slow she immediatly straightened up and hurried after him, her arms hanging at her sides and her face blank.

"I am not slow" She retorted in a rather chidlish manner
